When people are looking to buy or sell property, the first place they usually head is online. And while the digital shift has been beneficial for the real estate industry as a whole, it’s also meant there’s a lot more competition between individual agents.

So with a vast number of real estate brands to compete with, how do you make sure that your brand stands out from the crowd? Here are six effective strategies…

1. Maintain a professional website

It goes without saying that your real estate business needs a professional website that’s up-to-date, easy to navigate, fast to load and contains lots of relevant and engaging content.

It’s also worth investing in high quality photography because as you’re aware, imagery is so important in the real estate industry. And to make sure your brand leaves a lasting impression, you’ll need a distinctive logo and tagline displayed prominently on your website, as well as on all your marketing material.

2. Get networking

Being successful in the real estate industry is all about building good relationships and making connections. One way to do this is through attending conferences and industry events. Make sure you have plenty of business cards on hand so you can make the most of these opportunities.

3. Give away freebies

Who doesn’t love a freebie, right? Freebies are a great way to keep your brand front-of-mind with potential clients. Some suggestions include key rings, doormats, wine coolers or pens – basically anything that’s useful and you can put your business name on. You may also like to offer free ebooks or other digital downloads on your website such as guides, checklists or property reports. Just make sure your branding and contact details are prominent.

4. Get involved in the community

To get your real estate brand out there, why not become more involved in your local community? For example, you could sponsor a local sports team and have your branding on their uniforms, at their home ground and on all their marketing material. Or you could host a networking event, support a local charity or conduct a seminar. These opportunities can help you turn your brand into a household name in your local area.

5. Ask for testimonials and reviews

If you really want your real estate brand to stand out from the crowd, what others say about your business speaks volumes. Ask your customers if they’re willing to share reviews or testimonials about you and your business. You could put together some interviews or case studies about some of your happy customers. Or encourage people to leave reviews on your social media pages. This is a great way to gain trust and generate new business.

6. Be consistent

Finally, to keep your real estate brand at the forefront of people’s minds, you need to ensure your branding is consistent across all your marketing efforts – both online and offline. If your logos, graphics and style are inconsistent, all the time and effort you’ve put in to increase brand awareness may be wasted. The secret is to build a consistent, professional and recognisable brand that people know and trust.

FINAL WORD

Although your website is an obvious place to start when it comes to branding your real estate business, as the above strategies have shown, there are lots of other ways to help your brand stand out from the crowd.

And remember, building a successful and recognisable brand isn’t something that happens overnight. It takes time, perseverance and consistency, however it’s certainly achievable by putting the right strategies and practices in place. Good luck!
